Ross Williams W4CR Ambassador, wearing his hoodie and being greeted by David Tuttlebee

Ross Williams, Professional World Cup Windsurfer, recently met with David during a brief return to the UK and Ross agreed to act as an Ambassador for the charity. Ross will be visibly promoting the charity with large W4CR sail logos on all his sails and he will also be wearing the charity clothing lines.

David said, "To have an International windsurfer such as Ross as an Ambassador is excellent news. He will help raise awareness of W4CR throughout his travels and competitions and will share his experiences through a blog on the W4CR website. I can't wait to see him on a podium wearing the hoodie!"

Ross said, ‘’I am very happy to become an ambassador for W4CR. My role will be to help raise both awareness and the profile of W4CR. I am looking forward to giving as much support as I can, whether I am at home in the UK or abroad. Cancer is a disease that can affect any of us. W4CR’s fundraising is supporting cancer research, while also providing education and support for people living with cancer. Please check out my updates on the W4CR website and don’t forget, get on the water for the 2010 SunriseSunset challenge. I plan to be back in the UK for it."

Hi All

Since my trip to south africa i've been pretty much on the road the whole time. I had a long distance race in the caribbean from Guadeloupe to island Martinque. Its about 120 miles and would of taken us around 6 hours to complete. As luck would have it the wind blow from the wrong direction making the crossing impossible. We did manage a much smaller race of 24miles out into the sea and back again to Guadeloupe and looking back that was plenty long enough for me, i even question whether i could of completed the intended route to Martinque.

No sooner had i landed back in London i was off again. This time to Argentina not to visit my girlfriend who is from Buenos Aires but to another part of the country Mendoza, for the formula world championships. Over 60 sailors from around globe took part in the championship. The lake was man made above the city in between the beautiful mountains that separate Argentina and Chile. The competition was very competitive with the top 10 to 15 guys all very capeable of winning. We had wind everyday and completed the full 15 races allowed. In the end it was the french man Atoine Albeau who was crowned world champion, with Brazilian Paulo Dos Reis in 2nd and my self in 3rd. I am very happy with this result it is a great start to my busy schedule of competing and travelling.

stay tuned for another up-date.
